2020 is the second year of cooperation between Xiangtan Central Hospital and the Israel MATAT. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Office of International Cooperation of hospital and MATAT executives decided to carry out the cooperation in a brand new way of active video conference.

On August 18th, Zeng Jianping, Vice President of Xiangtan CPPCC and President of the Hospital, and Yang Wenbin, Chief of the Medical Department attended the conference, leading a team of hundreds of doctors from the Department of Cardiology, Neurology, CCU and Endocrinology.

President Zeng said that this year is a special year as we all live in the shadow of new coronavirus. Chinese government mobilizes national strengths, unites people and cooperates together to soon control the condition. The Israeli people are also actively responding to their government call to decrease deaths. We see both medical workers of the two countries have played an important role in this war. They are warriors and selfless and fearless in face of fighting the virus. In this special period, we introduced online video communication with MATAT to continue our cooperation.

The main lecturer of this conference is Professor Yitshal N. Berner, the former Head of Geriatric Medicine, M.D. MPH. He made academic sharing on the topic of Congestive heart failure and cardiac dementia.
