I am so lucky to have the chance given by our hospital to go to Japan for further study from December 2019 to March 2020. Japan is an country which is a clean, quiet, safe and orderly though it has a high population density and lack of natural resources and full of frequent natural disasters. Now it has become the second largest powerful economic country in the world from the ruins of the World War II. Japan is well-developed in science and technology, especially in basic industries which is far more advanced compared to other countries. Japanese are living more convenient and high quality of life with the development of automobile, nuclear energy, artificial intelligence and so on. Definitely, social development relies on not only the development of innovation of science technology but also good social order and national quality. More than 50% Japanese citizens can accept university education. Japanese educationa pays more attention to the cultivation of students' comprehensive ability and emphasis on contact more with society and close to nature in the process of education. Japanese high quality is also well known in the world which is characterized with self-discipline, dedication, concentration, punctuality and trustworthiness . " do not bring others trouble " is their principle of life. Japanese social safety and medical benefit system are sound and its medical technology is advanced. People in Japan has a longlife expectancy. Quality of the Service is at the top level in the world and Japanese has the higher satisfaction to their life.

I studied mainly in Osaka University Affiliated Hospital Department of Radiotherapy and Osaka Heavy Particle Treatment Center during the three months. Osaka University is one of the top leading university in Japan according to its comprehensive ranking . Japan is one of the countries that has the highest level of radiotherapy technology and equipment in the world. Also, there are the largest and most advanced carbon ion radiotherapy centers in Japan. Osaka carbon ion treatment Center is currently one of 13 carbon ion radiotherapy centers worldwide and one of six centers in Japan.

All of the staffs of radiotherapy department are very kind and thoughtful. I am very appreciated by their great care and help. Particularly they show me their great concern and encouragement when the new coronavirus pneumonia was raging in China in February this year. What impressed me most is their focus on details in their work and their concentration on their research which result in high quality and efficiency of work.

Japanese is a people-oriented society. Above all, patient privacy is strictly protected. They always pay attention to the details to keep the patient's information secret and avoidbring patients the feelings of being intrudedduring the diagnosis and treatment processes. They are always kind, patient, thoughtful and considerate and keep a good relationship with patients.

Japanese hospital emphasis on work efficiency. The implementation of hierarchical diagnosis and treatment and appointment system is a rule in medical care system. The patient can only make an appointment with a large comprehensive hospital with a reference letter from the basic hospital. They are good at making a detailed schedule in the the radiotherapy department. The time of visiting, following up, examination, simulation and start of treatment are arranged 1-2 weeks in advance. The detailed work for doctors, physicians and technologist is also listed in the weekly schedule. So that the patients and their families have sufficient time to prepare and adapt to the next procedure. All the staffs are always performing their respective duties in their own positions. They describe every detailed medical process to be carried out and what would happen to patients in patient, which include the possible treatment effect, side effect, accidence and so on. Even the movement of the couch during the CT scan would be explained in detail. As a result, patients have made a psychological and physical preparation before receiving medical measures, so as not to stopped the process halfway, which lead to inefficiency.Everyone is diligent and dedicated to their work. They will come up with a lot of methods and even invent some small parts which can be used conveniently in the treatment so that the whole process would be more accurate and comfortable. Definitely they are serious and careful to anything they should do with a clear consciousness of teamworkthat means cooperatting with others. Any little mistake will lead to the failure of the whole work. They pay much attention to details. For example, even if it has taken more than an hour to make a body shell for immobilizing during treatment, they will start with it again only if the patient tell them he feel any discomfortable. Concentration is the most impressive character among all of their spirit. They do not follow the trend which is to be seen as a " hot "research and they don' t think about the topic so called " high -big- up ". Most of them would like to follow their interests when they choose a research theme. In the department, some of them carry out clinical research, some perform basic research, everyone thinks that both their own research and others’ research are significative. It’s their responsibility to make their own contribution to the medical research in such a comprehensive institution. Everyone is very professional in their own field, but they also accept the truth that they do not know the fields of others. If there is a problerm they are not familiar with, they will be very modest to consult others in the fields. They are very serious to their own words with seldom saying "I definitely sure" or "others are wrong " and the most common words they used is “I am not sure about it, I just analyze from current data, we need further study”. Most of them work deep in their narrow field throughout their life and do their job to the extreme. Some students even change to some "cold " research fieldssimply because they are interested in.

It is an unforgettable period time. I not only learn knowledge and expand horizon, but also harvest friendship. I respect their self-discipline and dedication and I am moved by their concentration and persistence. I strongly aware that even if not in the top field, details are still the critical factor to determine the success or failure. Under the foundation of reliable social security system and advanced medical guarantee, doctors and patients do not have to consider medical expenses first, but give priority to the needs of patients and the treatment effect. Adequate and considerate communication is the key to a good doctor-patient relationship. Politeness, patience, and thinking from the perspective of others are particularly important. when the coronavirus-19 is spreading, the Chinese and Japanese government help each other friendly and sincerely, the people of two countries are closely tied in emotiona and action with the same feeling of "the mountains and rivers are foreign, the wind and the moon are the same day ". I learned a little Japanese and I plan to continue to learn Japanese language because I want to learn more about their professional knowledge and national culture. Japanese medication is well known for their advanced medical technology, efficient working mode and management, high-quality medical services and doctor-patient relations which are worthy of repeated thinking and studing for me.
